Drinks

So, I start this page with a disclaimer. I am not a bartender. I did not even begin drinking alcohol until I was 30. However, somehow in the last year or two, I have been dubbed the "mixologist." How did this happen? Well, I am always willing to help a friend. She was throwing a holiday party and wanted to have a signature drink. She found recipes on the internet and asked me to help her make and sample them. Initially, we stuck to the recipes with minor changes. However, when she hosted a Mardi Gras party and asked me to be in charge of making a hurricane, the mixologist was born. I did not like any of the 3 recipes I tried. So, I kept mixing and concocting until I had Crystal's Category 5 Hurricane. Recently, while in Turks and Caicos for a week, I was asked to make hurricanes for the guests. I used this as an opportunity to concoct new recipes. I had a captive audience. Why not? At the end of the week, they told me to publish the recipes. So, here they are. The pictures are not pictures of the actual drinks. So no need to worry if your final product does not look like the picture. Also, my measuring style was unique. While in Turks and Caicos, I used a glass that had a jelly fish at the bottom, a starfish in the middle and a seahorse at the top. Measurements were to the top of the jellyfish and the bottom of the seahorse. Therefore, feel free to tweak to your own personal delight. Here I will use guesstimates for a shot glass for some of the recipes. Bottoms up and remember to drink responsibly.
